Scouting Alumni Newsletter – August 2026

Dear fellow Scouting Alum,

There is nothing like a Jamboree! The 2026 National Jamboree was a wonderful experience. 

In addition to the thousands of Scouting alumni who volunteered on staff, attended as day visitors, or came to speak to Scouts about their leadership journeys, Scouting Alumni and the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) had vibrant presences that promoted alumni engagement, helped connect Scouts with future careers, and encouraged Scouts to make the most of their Scouting experiences. 
 
Walking around the Jamboree site, including the excellent Alumni Adventure Complex, I could feel the energy that engaged alumni bring to Scouting:

• Connecting with and supporting Scouts and Scouters at all stages of their Scouting journey.
• Promoting our High Adventure Bases and their associated alumni groups.
• Highlighting professional and collegiate alumni organizations.
• Welcoming Regus the Bald Eagle through a longstanding NESA partnership.
• Selling out of a vibrant assortment of NESA gear, demonstrating the attractiveness of Scouting America’s largest single alumni affinity group.
• Hearing from alumni speakers on all ranges of topics, including an Olympian, elected officials, the winner of a survivalist competition, a racecar champion, a NASA official, and many more.

Quite simply, it was energizing…for Scouts and Scouting alumni, alike! The only thing that might have been missing was you!

If you weren’t able to make it to the National Jamboree, I hope you will join us at the 2027 National Gathering of Alumni, held September 16–19, 2027 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in beautiful West Virginia. We won’t have 12,000 people camping then, but the Alumni energy will be just as big—and there’s always a place at the campfire for you!
