Scouting Alumni Newsletter – September 2026 Dear fellow Scouting Alum, It is impossible to be involved in Scouting – even if only occasionally – and not feel the impact of our Scouting Family. You see it at den and pack meetings, at Cub family campouts, at troop and crew meetings and outings, at camps large and small, at service projects, and at community events. You see it at life-changing high adventure trips and this summer’s great Jamboree.
These summer activities can be really memorable for youth – but they don’t happen in a vacuum. Each Scout who participated in a summer activity benefited from the efforts of their fellow Scouts, their volunteer leaders, and their parents and loved ones.
It is this Scouting Family that, time and again, changes lives and makes families, communities, and our nation better. You’ll see it throughout this month’s stories below.
For many of us, the relationships we created in Scouting have endured for years and decades.
This week, take a moment to think about who your Scouting Family is and what they enabled you to do. If you’re still in touch, send them a note of gratitude!
And pay it forward by inviting another family to experience all of the richness that a Scouting Family could bring to them. Yours in Scouting, Andrew Miller |
