Bruce Hamous, hailing from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the 2023 honoree for National Service Territories 4, 5, 6, and 9. Active in Scouting for over 50 years, Bruce became an Eagle Scout in 1971 and since that time, has served on NESA scholarship selection committees and as his council’s NESA Chair. Bruce is also a member of the National Committee of the Alumni Association and has played a vital role in alumni efforts within NST 4 for several years, especially in regard to council support. Bruce is known for his can-do spirit, and his diligent work to strengthen alumni outreach for the various councils within NST 4 is known to be meticulous. He is currently serving as the Alumni Association’s NST 4 Coordinator and was a member of the staff for the inaugural National Gathering of Alumni at Philmont. On top of a distinguished career as an architect, Bruce has served locally in many ways, including leadership of Rotary Club and the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
