Devang Desai Becomes 13th National Commissioner

Author: Mike Matzinger

Devang Desai was officially announced as Scouting America’s 13th National Commissioner during the 2025 National Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, becoming the second person to hold this role under the organization’s new name. The position, first held by Daniel Carter Beard, one of the founders of Scouting in the U.S., carries a proud legacy and a forward-looking vision.

Desai will join National Chair Brad Tilden and President & CEO Roger Krone as part of the National Key 3, the leadership team guiding Scouting America into the future.

A recipient of the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope, and Silver Buffalo awards, as well as the National Eagle Scout Association’s Outstanding Eagle Scout Award, Desai’s Scouting achievements are a testament to his dedication and service.

We are excited to welcome Commissioner Desai to this important role and look forward to his leadership as we continue shaping the future of Scouting.
