Congratulations to Scouting alum Joe Sener on receiving an honorary Doctor of Science from Northern Illinois University, in recognition of a lifetime of service and leadership.
Beyond his accomplished professional career and military service, Joe has made a lasting impact through his deep commitment to Scouting. A longtime Scout leader, he has served on the Chicago Area Council board and consistently lived the values of Scouting through mentorship, service, and community involvement. His dedication to developing young people and giving back reflects the same leadership principles he carried from the U.S. Army into every aspect of his life.
Joe’s story is a powerful example of how Scouting shapes leaders who continue to serve with purpose, generosity, and integrity throughout their lives.
