For Crystal Thomas, scouting is about much more than badges and activities. It’s about building community, fostering growth, and being a positive role model for young people.
As Cubmaster of Pack 3219 and assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 220, Crystal has dedicated years to supporting youth development after first becoming involved when her own children joined scouting. Her leadership journey includes serving as a den leader for 4 years and helping guide Troop 220 for the past 5 years.
Crystal values the strong network of fellow leaders and the family-centered environment scouting provides. Whether it’s watching Cub Scouts bring creative cardboard box derby designs to life or helping scouts develop practical outdoor and STEM skills through camping adventures, she finds joy in seeing young people grow in confidence and creativity.
A former Girl Scout herself, Crystal believes leadership is about setting a positive example. She takes pride in mentoring not only her own children but also the many scouts who look up to her.
Outside of scouting, Crystal enjoys camping, motorcycle riding, and hands-on STEM projects with her family.
Strong communities are built by volunteers who invest their time, energy, and passion into the next generation.
Thank you, Crystal, and thank you to the over 400 thousand registered Scouting volunteers. You are leaving a legacy.
