Scout Raises Awareness of Human Trafficking and Helps Lead His Community in Supporting Victims

by Mike Matzinger

Noa Lessenberry is a 17-year-old Scout from Bella Vista who led a large-scale Eagle Scout service project focused on raising awareness about human trafficking and supporting victims through meaningful community action.

After researching the issue and partnering with local nonprofits, law enforcement, and church leaders, he organized multiple educational events across Arkansas that helped both youth and parents better understand the risks of trafficking and online safety.

As part of the project, Noa coordinated volunteers, secured donations from community organizations, and led the effort to assemble more than 1,000 backpacks filled with comfort and hygiene items for trafficking victims. His work brought together churches, civic groups, and social service organizations while creating a lasting impact through education, advocacy, and direct support.

Noa’s project reflects his commitment to service, leadership, and social justice, and highlights his goal of continuing to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Scouting America is an incubator of servant leaders.
