For Luka Herrera, an Eagle Scout from Troop 522 in Overland Park, Kansas, that opportunity became a mission. Before turning 18, Luka accomplished something extraordinary: he earned every single merit badge Scouting America offers.
What began as a post-Eagle goal turned into a nearly four-year journey of learning, travel, and growth. Luka sought out unique experiences to earn the more specialized badges — from hitting the slopes in Colorado for Snow Sports to diving into Arkansas lakes for Scuba Diving. Some moments were especially meaningful, like working on the Woodworking badge side by side with his grandfather.
Luka’s achievement is more than a collection of patches — it’s a powerful reminder of what young people can accomplish with curiosity, commitment, and a spirit of adventure.
