Scout Leads Inspiring Eagle Scout Service Project

by Mike Matzinger

Diamondhead, Mississippi Scout Cooper Burke is leading an inspiring service project with his fellow Scouts from Troop 210 to support foster children across the local community. As part of his Eagle Scout service project, Cooper spent months collecting donations for Elijah’s Closet, a nonprofit that provides clothing and essential items to children in foster care.

This project is deeply personal. Cooper is a foster child himself, and Elijah’s Closet played an important role in his life. With the support of his foster family and the brotherhood of his Scout troop, he is now giving back to the organization that once helped him.

Cooper shared that knowing how many people this effort will help is what matters most to him. His foster father, Michael Burke, and Troop 210 Scoutmaster Tim Willis both highlighted how this project reflects the true spirit of Scouting through service, growth, and leadership.

Well done, Cooper, Troop 210, and everyone who supported this meaningful effort.
