Most people would be thrilled to meet the mayor of their own city. Scouting alum Mitchell Whitley decided to aim a little higher.
The 27-year-old Eagle Scout, now based in Raleigh and working for the State Auditor’s office, has set a goal to meet every mayor in North Carolina. All 551 of them.
It might sound ambitious, but Mitchell is already well on his way. He has met 402 mayors so far, reaching nearly 75 percent of his goal.
Big goals start with small conversations. Mitchell is proving that one introduction at a time.
